Filecoin ProPGF Batch 1: $3.6M+ Awarded to Ecosystem Builders
We’re thrilled to announce the successful completion of the very first Filecoin Public Goods Funding (ProPGF) batch. A total of $3.68M in funding has been allocated to 14 teams building foundational infrastructure, developer tooling, and essential services that will power the next generation of Filecoin applications.
Protocol Labs’ Filecoin Public Goods Funding (PGF) programs support projects that strengthen the Filecoin ecosystem and broader open-source infrastructure. Funding is distributed through ProPGF (prospective funding for forward-looking initiatives) and RetroPGF (retroactive rewards for proven impact), enabling developers, researchers, and community builders to create and sustain tools, protocols, and resources that advance decentralized storage and the open web.
This is just the beginning. ProPGF is designed to be a recurring, long-term initiative, with funding batches taking place every six months. Batch 2 launches this October 2025, and we can’t wait to see what’s next.

A Community Effort
This milestone wouldn’t be possible without the time, care, and commitment of our ProPGF selection committee, who conducted thoughtful reviews and rigorous due diligence to ensure that every dollar supports projects with meaningful impact. A heartfelt thank you to the committee, and to all the teams who applied. Your contributions continue to drive the Filecoin ecosystem forward.
Meet the Funded Teams
We’re proud to support the following projects in ProPGF batch 1:
- Curio Dashboard - $50,000 Curio Dashboard is a web-based interface designed for monitoring and managing your Curio cluster. It provides an intuitive layout with real-time metrics and rich visualizations, allowing you to efficiently oversee cluster activity and data insights.
- Fil Note - $100,000 FilNote is an RWA project mapping centralized FIL lending into real-world assets like debt or income certificates. It enables traditional capital to enter the Filecoin ecosystem securely and compliantly, boosting liquidity and expanding ecosystem participation.
- Filecoin Developer Tooling (FIL-B) - $400,000 This grant supports protocol maintenance of the FEVM (EIP-7702, EOFv1), development of Filecoin-native smart contract tooling for cross-chain and Web3 use cases, and a robust developer experience layer — including community growth, builder onboarding, and DX innovation to scale Filecoin adoption.
- Filecoin EconoLens MCP Server - $80,000 This project will let anyone generate Filecoin supply and revenue forecasts using simple language through an Model-Context-Protocol (MCP) server. This will enable faster protocol improvements, smarter operational planning, and richer DeFi experiences - democratizing access to Filecoin’s CryptoEcon.
- Game Theoretic Programmable Fil+ Allocator- $155,000 Automated game theory-based low-friction Fil+ allocator
- Titan Network (SP Bandwidth) - $150,000 Support Filecoin ecosystem to provide additional ecosystem leverage and incentive via both: 1) Filecoin SPs as bandwidth providers on Titan network (so no PoRep needed here); 2) The FWS infra (on-chain ERC 20 payments with an easy to integrate API + warm storage via PDP + Explorers
- IPNI - $480,000 Interplanetary Network Indexers (IPNI) is a content routing service (DNS for content addressed data) that links the Filecoin and IPFS networks
- FIL Ponto- $500,000 FilPonto coordinates public goods to make Filecoin more accessible, including: open chain infrastructure (RPC, indexers), 2) developer tooling and utilities (open source wallet libraries, oracle integrations, standards), and 3) integration support and grants advisory to new and existing partners
- Chainfee - $25,000 Analyze relevant data such as sector punishment in the Filecoin network to help miners optimize management and study economic trends
- CIDgravity Gateway- $500,000 Data onboarding platform to Filecoin 100PiB scaled with native S3 and Erasure coding for Hot Storage
- Curio Storage- $500,000 Filecoin Storage Provider Implementation
- EverMedia Vault- $161,800 EverMedia puts media content on-chain via IPFS, with a visual platform for tracking and provenance enhancing Filecoin’s public usability
- Lynx - $80,000 A Filecoin SP reputation analysis and visualization platform serving real data users and SPs themselves. It integrates on-chain and off-chain data, supports objective scoring, and provides real-time feedback
- Filecoin Retrieval Checkers (FilCDN) as FWS Services- $500,000 Critical retrieval assurance; FWS integration
Together, these projects span a rich cross-section of use cases, from high-performance data retrieval to programmable deal allocation. All are united by a shared mission to build robust, open infrastructure for the decentralized web.
What’s Next
- Initial disbursements begin this week and will continue into next.
- Progress reporting will be required from each funded team to ensure transparency and accountability.
- Batch 2 of ProPGF launches in October 2025 with more details to be shared soon.
- Batch 3 of FIL-RPGF launches in end of September 2025
For teams who weren’t selected in this batch, we strongly encourage you to apply again in the fall or explore alternative opportunities through FIL-RetroPGF and other ecosystem funding programs.
Final Thoughts
The close of ProPGF Batch 1 marks more than a funding milestone. It’s a testament to the growing strength, ambition, and collaboration within the Filecoin ecosystem.
We’re honored to support this pioneering cohort and excited to follow their progress as they build the future of decentralized storage. This is just the beginning, and things are only heating up.
Stay tuned for more updates as we head toward the next batch in October including a blog post speaking to the long term roadmap for ProPGF.
